Project Overview

This project focuses on providing crucial support and sustainable solutions for vulnerable pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities. By addressing immediate needs through livestock provision and building long-term capacity through business creation, we aim to foster resilience during drought periods.

Objectives

• Provide core livestock (goats and sheep) to vulnerable households.
• Support the creation of alternative small businesses to diversify income.
• Improve household food security and economic resilience against climate shocks.

Activities

Throughout the course of the project, our field teams conducted thorough community needs assessments, procured and distributed healthy livestock, and facilitated hands-on training workshops for small business management and livestock health.

Impact & Results

The initiative successfully reached hundreds of families, directly improving their daily livelihoods. Recipient households report a significant increase in milk production for children, higher household incomes from small trades, and a stronger foundation for sustainable development moving forward.
