Small Scale Farming Project

Bali-Mataan District, Somaliland

Project Overview

Providing long-term food security requires empowering local farmers with the tools and knowledge necessary to adapt to a changing climate. This project emphasizes modern agricultural techniques, drought-resistant crops, and the establishment of local greenhouse farms to generate sustainable yields.

Objectives

Activities

Our agricultural specialists engaged directly with local households to distribute high-yield, drought-resistant seeds. We oversaw the installation of drip irrigation networks and constructed functional greenhouse units, accompanied by extensive training on modern crop maintenance and soil conservation.

Impact & Results

Participating families have experienced a transformative shift in their food security. The introduction of greenhouse farming has allowed for year-round harvesting of vegetables, significantly improving local nutrition profiles. Excess yields have also allowed farmers to generate sustainable income at local markets.
